To succeed in this role you will possess a combination of leadership abilities with detail-oriented execution skills and business savvy.
Responsibilities
- Be a key individual in the application engineering & technical support functions for the full range of EchoFirst's solutions
• Conduct analysis of Echo Solar Systems in various environments and develop models for optimizing performance and building integration
• Provide support to the Product Development Organization for system analysis and testing related to new product releases.
• Analyze trends in field data and work with Controls team to develop and implement strategies for building performance optimization
• Work closely with R&D, Product Management and Training Departments to provide and co-ordinate feedback on the company's product offerings; lead in resolving any technical issues and help in defining the requirements for new products.
• Be a "go-to" person in a best-in-class technical support infrastructure to support PVT's field staff and PVT's Dealer base
• Assist Product Planning in terms of technical and business analysis
• Develop design automation tools, improved system deployment solutions and work closely with training and sales departments to implement solutions across the installer base
• Function as an individual contributor, but demonstrate leadership abilities on key projects
• Generate Applications Engineering and related technical materials
Candidate qualifications
- Mandatory
- 2-6+ years of Engineering or Product Development experience (hardware/software)
- Able to solve multi-dimensional systems engineering challenges
- Experience with Building Energy systems and in particular, with HVAC systems
- Understanding of C/C++ programming
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively, learn and develop innovative solutions to technical and/or design challenges.
- Appreciation of Physics, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering principles
- Understanding and ability to operate and develop building energy management software
- Good organizational skills
- Superior communication– written, oral, listening skills
- Desirable
- Knowledge and experience with building management systems
- Experience in generating Engineering or product solutions in customer-centric, high-technology companies
- Experience with customer facing functions and technical support
- Technical knowledge of construction practices
- Understanding of PV technology and manufacturing techniques
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field
- Advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or commensurate experience
