How echo™ works with solar

Installation Photo

With a basic solar electric (PV) system, the PV modules are heated by the sun and all of the heat energy is allowed to escape. But the echo™ solar system captures hot air from the PV modules and puts it to work. Basic PV systems = wasted heat energy and lower electrical generation.

The echo™ solar system captures hot air from the PV modules and uses it to heat your home and your water.

The PVT Solar™ CleanLine™ mounting system is attached to the roof. This simple looking structure enables both module mounting and air capture!

Standard PV modules - ‘straight-from-the-box’ - are inserted into the mounting system, forming a seamless array that captures the air.

Cool, fresh outside air is drawn into the system, cooling the PV modules and absorbing their waste heat. The air passes through Thermal modules at the top of the array, which further increase its temperature and increases the energy produced by the array. Vents and electronic controls, installed under the roof, direct and manage the high temperature air to provide space heating and/or to heat water.
